LFS with roll-forward iozone results with fsync
IOzone is a file system benchmarking tool available from www.iozone.org capable of measuring wide variety of file system operations on many platforms. This page contains 3D graphs depicting how file and record size affect the performance of different operations. The experiment was single threaded and an fsync is included in these measurements.
The computer used in this experiment was an AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ with 256MB RAM with two SATA disks. The measured file systems always resided on a 80GB Seagate Barracuda while the rest of the system was placed on a 120GB WD. Note that the maximum file size is twice the available RAM.
